Margaret, a lower payment absolutely makes sense if you have already contacted the creditor to explain the situation. Always keep your credit card company informed and you may find your creditor is willing to work with you.

Does it make any sense to pay even a small amount ($25 or $50) toward a card even if minimumn payment is much higher, just to show "good faith" and "trying hard" to make a payment? Margaret

To change your billing address you just need to contact the customer service department of your credit card issuer. The phone number will be printed on the back of your card and on your billing statement.
