John, cardholders are responsible for paying their monthly bills whether or not the credit card company gets the statement to them in a timely manner. I do suggest, however, that based on your good payment history you should contact the creditor and ask for any fees or interest rate increases resulting from this one-time late payment be waived. Good luck.

I was late with my payment 10-09, as I never recieved my statement. Check your records. I have always paid my bill on the 1st of every month. I do not think thids is fair for my account to charge more interest for the one and only time I was late due to YOUR falut for me not gettting my statement. When I sat down to look over my bills that had not been paid, I sent in my payment. I am protesting taking my card from me as it was YOUR falut I was late with ONE payment, again due to YOUr falut. Check your records, I am not late with my bills. I need a response from your dept about this account. Do I get the same interest fee, and I am going to be able to keep my card. I will send all my info to whomever I need to as I have never been late with my apymnet. I have been a loyal customer. Why do you do GOOD customers this way?

Richard, if the original paperwork you received when opening the credit card does not explain the procedures for allowing points to expire, contact Bank of America directly to find out what is happening with your account.

I have a BOA Platinum Plus MC. I was looking at my available points and see that on 4/29/2009 45,000 of my points have expired. Why is this? I have no correspondence from BOA that these point expire. Please explain.

Laura, contact Bank of America directly to close your credit card accounts. There should be a phone number listed on the back of the credit card, or check the contact information on your billing statement.

Gail,

Thanks for your comment.

This really sucks. Since when do you need an account to get a cash payment. It states you will receive a check in up to 14 days, but where is the place to tell it to do so. Only open an account. This was not in place the last time I cashed in. Guess I will have to cash out of World Points. Not worth the effort to try and get my money.

Greg,

I think the reason is so that the cash can be automatically credited to your account. I suggest that you contact Customer Service and see if they would be willing to send you a check for your cash reward.

Why do you have to apply for "online banking" to obtain a cash Worldpoints reedemtion?

-- Contributed by: Greg

Lisa,

Information on redeeming points is available at the World Points website.

Thanks for your excellent question.

-- Contributed by: SusanWeber

Your website does not say where to redeem points at - it just says how to keep buying!

-- Contributed by: Lisa

You can redeem your points for cash using online banking. If you are not signed up for online banking, or if you have specific questions, you should call Bank of America credit card customer service using the 800 number on your credit card.

Thanks for your question.

How do i redeem points for cash? The web site just goes around in circles and doesn't tell me where i can request cash for my points.

-- Contributed by: Tim

Bessie,

Usually you cannot combine points from two Bank of America World Point credit cards. However, the terms and conditions do state that "Points and/or rewards may not be combined with other discount or reward programs, unless specifically authorized by FIA Card Services, N.A." I suggest that you contact World Points and ask if your specific situation will allow to receive an authorization to combine the points.

Thanks for your question.

I just wanted to know if you can combine your points if you have two credit cards from Bank of America and both give you World Points.

Yolanda,

You need to call World Points at 800.434.8313 to make your travel arrangements.

Thanks for your question.

-- Contributed by: SusanWeber

I would like to use my points for airline tickets. How do I do this? Can I just book the tickets through a website such as Travelocity and then notify you that I want to use my points toward that charge? Or do I need to book the travel through you. Please let me know as I can't find this information on your website.

How do I redeem by worldpoint reward points to purchase items

Rachel,

If you read the comments about the Bank of America World Points program here at LoveToKnow you will also see mixed comments. Less than satisfactory customer service or points redemption tend to be two of the most frequently mentioned issues. This is a common problem when a third-party provides an incentive program to a card issuer. Unfortunately, the card issuer's website and customer service functions may not be well-connected to the third-party program.

If you want to participate in the program and have trouble getting answers from the customer service rep who answers your call, I always suggest that you ask to speak with a supervisor. Unfortunatly, this is one of the only ways to really get the attention of the card issuer that their program has customer service issues.

Thanks for your comment and for visiting LoveToKnow Credit Cards.

I've heard really mixed reviews about Bank of American World Points. Some people like it, but it seems that quite a few people really had problems with it. On viewpoints.com, eight people reviewed it and it only has 2.62 stars out of 5.
