Dione,

You are smart to do your research before applying for a credit card. Some of the credit cards designed for people with limited or poor credit have very high interest rates or fees. I recommend that you continue your research here on LoveToKnow with some our specialized articles on the subject. You will see that the cards which are recommended tend to be lower in fees, monitor your payment history, give you increasing credit lines and report your good payment history to the credit bureaus. These are key steps to help you build your credit score.

Thanks for your question and for visiting LoveToKnow Credit Cards.

I would like to no what type of card would you recommend for someone who has never had one but has bad credit from past due bills. I have only one object left to pay and my credit score is between 540-567

Shawnee,

Be sure that you detail your problem in a letter to Aspire. Then send the letter to the three major credit bureaus at http://www.equifax.com, http://www.transunion.com and http://www.experian.com/ and ask for the letter to be included in your credit bureau file. Be sure to keep a copy for your records.

Aspire is GONE,

Aspire is no longer offering new accounts in New York due to the settlement of a lawsuit, but we are still confirming if they are initiating new accounts in other states. In the meantime, their website is still available for account servicing for their existing credit card accounts.

Good News for thos past due customers ROBBED by Aspire and present folks with sub-par credit....ASPIRE is NO LONGER offering new accounts to card holders online or via mail. ASPIRE had recently settled a Federal Lawsuit and is no longer available to initiate new accounts. BEWARE< ASPIRE may NOT OFFER new accounts under the ASPIRE logo, but the merged banks do offer the same type of card under TRIBUTE GOLD MASTERCARD and SALUTE VISA GOLD CARD. BOTH cards offer sky high aplication fees and nmiscellaneous charges, as well as an Annual Fee of 150 dollars or more per year. UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE TO RE-BUILD CREDIT, OR OTHER SUB+PRIME BANKS HAVE TURNED YOU DOWN, DO NOT apply for these credit cards. They are only designed to entrap consumers into a cycle of debt from day one of opening the account. REPUTABLE BANKS TO RESEARCH: Capital One, Orchard Bank, Credit One Bank. These (3) credit issuers offer very reasonable APR, rates, and annual fees and are comperable to each applicants individual credit profile.

how do i get the card

Adrianne,

I appreciate your feedback on Aspire. As a credit card, they do target people with less than average credit scores. It is good for others to hear your issues before signing up with them.

As far as your dilemma, you should read our other articles on Credit Consultant and Debt Settlement Company and Do It Yourself Card Credit Debt Settlement. Both of these articles can offer some suggestions on the best way to resolve your account with Aspire.

Remember to be persistent and don't let the Credit Card company roll over you.

Good luck!

I have tried for over two weeks to settle my account with Aspire. I have also call CompuCredit's main office, 770-206-6200, and was turned down because I wanted to settle the account. I have made more than the amount asked per month and when I couldn't get a settlement agreement and missed this month payment $35 was added to the account. I was not rewarded or even given acknowlegement of the previous doubled payment in addition to my last month's payment which was 4x the amount due.

The Bible says, 'Will A Man Rob God'? These people who run this corrupted business WILL ROB THEIR MOTHERS!!!!!! So you know what they think about God, me or you.

The sad thing about all of this is that there are Christains who work for this blood-sucking business. How do I know? I've asked!!! My advice to them is to find a job where they can be proud that God is proud of them. In everything, everything God says to acknowledge Him. This has to make Him sick.

You bait us in, then you try to own us for life. I have one master who died for me. Yes, I will pay the cost to be rid of you but my God will make you, the owners, pay for your evilness. He will fight my battles!!!! I pray that I hear about it for I will stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.  ;<)
