Cynthia, according to the American Express website, some of their prepaid cards require activation while others do not. If your card does require activation, it should say so on the accompanying do...entation that came with the card.

Do I need to register my prepaid American Express Gift Card Online before I use it to purchase online? Please respond and let me know. This is just a prepaid American Express GiftCard. It is not an American Express Credit Card.
