Applying for a Target Visa is an easy and quick process. Interested individuals can apply online at Target.com, pick up a brochure at a local Target store and send it in, or apply in the store and have the application processed while you shop.

Upon opening a new account, Target will send you a coupon for 10 percent off for an entire day. This coupon is good for only one day. Along with this coupon, you will receive a coupon that is good for 10 percent off an entire purchase (before it expires). You may also earn additional discounts with the rewards program.

In addition to no annual fees and generous credit limits, cardholders also receive the following benefits:

• Target Rewards – When you use your Target Visa card at Target stores, you will receive one reward point for every dollar you spend, and at all other locations you will receive one reward point for every $2 you spend. When you get to 1,000 reward points you can redeem the points for a 10 percent off day. You can also spend your points online at Target.com.
• Target Pharmacy Rewards – When you use the Target Visa at a Target Pharmacy you will also earn reward points. If you purchase 10 prescriptions with the Target Visa you will earn a 10 percent off day of shopping. You can also earn points to use online at Target.com.
• Optional SafetyNet® - This is a wonderful option to look into when applying for a Target Visa. If you lose your job involuntarily, become disabled, take unpaid employer approved leave of absence, are hospitalized, pass away, or receive nursing home care SafetyNet® balance protection will pay off your balance up to $10,000.

This is a program every Target Visa cardholder can take advantage of. You start by choosing a school to receive money from your purchases. That school then receives 1 percent of your purchases at Target and 0.05 percent of your purchases made at other places you used your Target Visa. These funds can be used for things such as playground equipment, books, and more. With over 106,000 schools to choose from, finding one in your area should be easy. As of March 2006, $138 million has been distributed to schools.
