No Definitive Scale

Every lender has its own procedures and regulations regarding acceptable credit. While one lender may consider 700 an excellent credit score, another lender may proclaim this score to be too low for premium financing. For this reason, there is not one single credit score scale that is used universally by all lenders.

On the other hand, it is safe to assume that credit scores falling within the lowest portions of the scale – 300-499 – will always be considered bad credit.
