MBNA 0 APR Credit Card Comparison
From LoveToKnow Creditcards
Individuals looking for an affordable line of credit should take the time to do an MBNA 0 APR credit card comparison. As with all credit cards, careful comparison is necessary to ensure you are getting the most affordable loan available. The MBNA credit card is one of several that offer this type of affordable opportunity.
MBNA Now Bank of America
Due to a variety of financial reasons, MBNA has been absorbed into Bank of America. The change happened in 2005. The company, which was once one of the largest credit card companies in the country, was sold to Bank of America for $35 billion.
The good news is that Bank of America is now offering the same offers as MBNA offered to credit card users. Users simply received new credit cards with the Bank of America trademark on it. Those who are looking for a new credit card can do an MBNA 0 APR credit card comparison and find that what Bank of America is offering is virtually the same as what was offered through MBNA.
An MBNA 0 APR Credit Card Comparison
The original offer of a zero percent APR credit card offered by MBNA is very similar to the Bank of America credit cards WorldPoints Platinum Plus MasterCard and the Visa Signature WorldPoints Rewards program. Each of these credit lines give the user the types of credit features they expected to have available to them through MBNA.
Bank of America WorldPoints Platinum Plus MasterCard
This card is a good option for those who have excellent credit scores and who are looking for a reward credit card with an affordable interest rate. This credit card program is virtually the same as the features of the MBNA card program.
The credit card offers a zero percent APR for the first 15 billing cycles. This means there are no interest charges for as long as 15 months on purchases and balance transfers made with the credit card. Balance transfers are payments made from a new credit line to pay off another credit line. You are virtually transferring the balance from one credit card to the next. The 15 billing cycles is one of the longer periods for a waiver of the APR.
The Bank of America WorldPoints Platinum Plus MasterCard offers other benefits including:
- A hefty reward program where users can earn one point for each dollar they spend
- The ability to redeem points for travel discounts without blackout dates, for cash back, restaurant gift certificates and products
- No annual fee
- An APR ranging from 9.9 percent to 19.99 percent applied to purchases and remaining balances after the first 15 billing cycles
Bank of America Visa Signature WorldPoints Rewards
Another option for those looking for the MBNA card that is no longer available is the Bank of America Visa Signature WorldPoints Rewards card. This card offers the 0 percent APR for 15 billing cycles for purchases and balance transfers made to the new credit card. It has many of the same benefits as the Platinum Plus card plus some minor differences:
- Once the first purchase is complete, the user receives a $25 statement credit
- In addition to using the 0 percent APR for balance transfers, the card can also be used for cash advances made with checks during the first 15 billing cycles
Although the MBNA 0 APR card is not officially available any longer, either of these two Bank of America credit cards offer similar opportunities to credit card users.
