Citgo Credit Card
From LoveToKnow Creditcards
The CITGO credit card comes in a variety of forms. All applications are reviewed for creditworthiness before the decision is made as to which credit card will be issued to the applicant, if any.
Types of CITGO Credit Cards
There are several types of CITGO cards available to applicants.
Gas Cards
Credit is available through one of the two CITGO gas cards, but these cards can only be used at participating CITGO gas stations. These cards are ideal for people who want to have a revolving line of credit at CITGO gas stations, but do not need credit elsewhere. Both can be used to purchase gas or to make purchases within the convenience stores. These cards can also be used to pay for repairs at available stations.
- CITGO Plus - This card features a revolving credit line so customers can choose to either carry a balance or pay the bill off in full every month. There is no annual fee for this card, but the APR hovers right below 20%.
- CITGO Celebrity - This card offers all the benefits of the Plus card but it also features special rewards programs and other incentives. Online account access is included with this card.
MasterCards
CITGO also offers a MasterCard in conjunction with CitiBank that allows cardholders to use the card everywhere MasterCard is accepted. Both cards offer impressive introductory interest rates for balance transfers, but this introductory rate expires after six months.
- Citi CITGO MasterCard - This card features a MasterCard logo, and therefore is accepted at any retailers accepted MasterCards. The variable interest rate for this credit card is around 17%.
- Citi Platinum Select CITGO MasterCard - This card also features a MasterCard logo but has a lower variable interest rate of around 13%. There is no annual fee for this card.
Prepaid Cards
Prepaid gas cards are available for purchase at CITGO stations and can be used to purchase gasoline as well as to make purchases within the convenience stores. These cards cannot be used anywhere else and must be reloaded for further use after the balance is depleted.
- CITGO Cash - This prepaid card is available in amounts starting at $5 with a maximum value of $300. There is no expiration date or fee for inactivity, and cardholders have the ability to check balances and recharge the card at participating CITGO stations.
These cards can be purchased as gifts or bought for personal use. Purchasers should be aware that the card cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Fleet Cards
CITGO offers a fleet credit card for business owners and corporations. All CITGO fleet cards offer a generous rebate program for the first few months of use. There are three options available for fleet credit cards:
- CITGO Fleet - This CITGO credit card is specifically-designed for fleets that qualify as small or mid-sized. This program is designed to offer flexibility to the cardholders, while also allowing the owner to effectively manage spending.
- Enhanced CITGO Fleet - This program is designed for larger fleets. Monthly fees apply to this account, and owners can use this credit card to limit the spending of cardholders. Online account access is available for this card.
- CITGO In-Store - This fleet credit card is designed for business owners who want tighter restrictions on the cardholders. It only allows cardholders to use the card at certain CITGO stations instead of allowing use at all CITGOs.
