Chase Bank Gift Cards
From LoveToKnow Creditcards
Chase Bank gift cards are prepaid debit cards featuring the Visa logo. The cards can be used anywhere Visa is accepted, making these cards widely accepted among merchants for goods and services.
Prepaid Gift Cards
While prepaid merchant gift cards act as gift certificates to specific merchants, prepaid Chase Bank gift cards can be used in a wide variety of places. Since these cards feature the Visa logo, these cards act as prepaid debit cards and can be used just like a traditional debit card.
The available balance of the card is the initial balance deposited by the purchaser, minus any fees. The fees for this card include:
- $3.50 to purchase the card at a participating Chase branch
- $4.95 for shipping and handling when purchasing the card online using the Chase website
- $15.95 for cards ordered for rush delivery
- $2.50 per month usage fee after the first twelve months after the purchase of the card
- $12 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards
- A foreign currency exchange rate fee of 3 percent of the purchase made in currencies other than the U.S. Dollar (USD)
Charges for these cards differ when purchased in bulk. Contact a Chase representative for more information regarding bulk orders of gift cards.
Ordering Chase Bank Gift Cards
Although these cards can be purchased at participating Chase branches, it is quite easy to order the cards online as well. The process is simple:

Chase gift cards are available in a variety of designs. Purchasers can choose a card based on the occasion. Designs for these cards include:
- Classic Design: This design looks like a generic Chase debit card.
- Celebrate Card: This design features a photo of a lit candle atop a layer of frosting.
- Bubbles Card: This design has a blue background with translucent bubbles.
- Nature Card: This design has a picture of a hummingbird and a branch of flowers and leaves.
- Snowflake Card: This design features artistic renditions of snowflakes.
The designs offered for gift cards are subject to change, and are often conducive to the season.
Input Card Information
Purchasers will need to decide on a few options for the card:

There are a variety of other messages available, including messages in Spanish. Purchasers can also choose to not have an embossed message featured on the card at all.

- Birthday
- Holiday
- Other
Information on the Recipient
Purchasers must give basic information regarding the recipient including:
- First and last name
- Phone number
- Valid e-mail address
Since there is no line of credit attached to this card, there is no need for the recipient's Social Security Number or any other personal financial information.
Shipping Information
Purchasers must inform Chase where to send the gift card. Purchasers can choose to have the card sent directly to the recipient or instead to the purchaser. It is important to note that cards over $100 are automatically sent to the purchaser for security reasons.
Additional Terms and Conditions
Chase Bank gift cards can be replaced if lost or stolen, but only if the card was registered online and after the replacement fee is paid.
Cards feature an expiration date embossed on the front of the card. After the expiration date, the cards are no longer valid for purchases. If there is a balance remaining on the card on the expiration date, cardholders can receive a refund check for the balance minus a $12 fee.
