Charter One Debit Cards
From LoveToKnow Creditcards
The Charter One debit cards give personal account holders and business account holders the ability to easily use the funds within their accounts. To use these cards, you will need to open a checking account or savings account with Charter One. Charter One also offers their members a variety of benefits for using their debit cards, depending on the type of card the individual has. One of the key benefits is being able to use money as you would when you write a check, but not having to wait for the check to clear or gain approval.
Personal Charter One Debit Cards
There are several benefits to using Charter One personal debit cards. One of the key benefits is the Everyday Points system, which allows users of the debit card to earn and accumulate points anytime they use their debit card. The points are part of the Charter One Rewards Program, which allows account holders to purchase anything from movie tickets to products and gift certificates. The points are redeemable as cash.
Another benefit of the personal debit card is that the card can be used for recurring payments. Sign up for recurring payments for mortgage payments, utility costs or other payments to be made each month. The system will automatically send payments on the date you specify, month after month, allowing you to avoid missing payments.
Additional Benefits to Members
A variety of other benefits are available to personal users of the Charter One card:
- Use the card any place credit cards are used. They will have either a Visa or MasterCard logo on them for easy use.
- There is no credit line or finance costs. Purchases deduct automatically from the account at the time of payment.
- Use Charter One Bill Pay, a feature of the debit card, to pay bills using your debit card.
- Use the debit card online to make safe, secured purchases.
- Use the card to withdraw cash from ATMs with the NYCE symptom on them, or at any ATM for a fee.
- Link several of your Charter One accounts to one card, including checking and savings accounts and some types of investment accounts.
- Obtain more than one debit card linked to a Charter One account to give others (such as a spouse) the ability to use the card.
Charter One Business Debit Cards
Charter One also offers a debit card with many of the same benefits for Charter One business account holders. To qualify for this type of debit card, you will need to have a business checking account with the bank. You can sign up for one online or at a local branch.
This MasterCard debit card allows business owners to easily access funds in their business checking accounts. The cards can be used at ATMs for withdrawals or at any place that a MasterCard can be used. This allows the business owner to have a great deal of flexibility to get access to their business funds, even when the bank is closed or there is not one located nearby.
Other benefits of the business debit cards include:
- There are no annual fees or interest charged. The funds debit directly from the checking account at the time of purchase.
- Business accounts with Charter One Rewards will receive one point for every dollar spent on a transaction where you do not enter a PIN to make the purchase.
- Set up recurring payments using the card and receive double the points for each recurring payment made.
- Get purchase assurance that protects the users of the card from fraudulent charges for 90 days from the date of purchase.
- Travel assistance and protection for qualified members allows for protection and replacement of travel documents, luggage and some medical assistance for oversea travel.
- Provide employees with a debit card for their business expenses to avoid the costs of credit card interest on traditional business credit cards.
It is essential to know the terms and conditions of the Charter One debit cards prior to making a purchase using them. You can find this information at the Charter One website.

Sandi, if you do not have access to a local branch, I suggest you visit the Charter One website (found in the link in the article above) to contact customer service. You may also call the phone number on the back of your card to find out when you can expect a new card to be issued to you.
