  • Make a payment right away. Using a checking or savings account, you can make a payment on your credit card account online. Payments made prior to 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time will be processed the same day.
  • Schedule a payment for another day. Individuals can schedule a payment as much as 30 days in advance. On the scheduled day, Capital One will initiate the payment process to pay your bill.
  • You can dispute payment details. If you believe there is an error with your account, you can use the contact information at the website to send an email to Capital One. This is the process to dispute payments, dispute charges or to inquire about your account status.

Pay Other Bills Online

Capital One also allows account holders to pay other bills they may have through the Capital One online system. This electronic payment option allows you to use your Capital One credit card to pay bills including utilities, other loans, and even your mortgage.

To use this feature, you will need to have an available balance on your credit card in the amount you pay each company. This method may be costly since you will be paying the bill using a credit card. This may mean you will need to pay finance charges on the amount if you do not pay the balance in full within the grace period. Check the terms of service before using this option to learn of any fees or interest associated with using it.

Capital One online account services offers a range of other benefits to users as well, beyond that of just managing their credit card:

  • Banking: Both personal and commercial banking is available through Capital Online Direct Banking. All features of this service for new and current account holders can be managed online.
  • Auto Loans: Those who would like to establish or who already have a Capital One Auto Finance account can use the company's website. Apply for a loan. Make a payment on a current loan. Compare rates on various loans. You can also use the company's "Blank Check" feature to know how much of a vehicle you can shop for.
  • Small Business: Credit cards and business loans may be obtained or accessed through Capital Online Small Business. Individuals may shop for a loan, apply and get a decision within a few minutes. The company also offers business money market accounts and payroll management services.

The online service is very poor you have to search every month to check your account and make payments. It never stays the same and I also have a problem with them sending statements in time to mail it back, that is why we try to pay on-line and what is so funny, I have had this account for 6 or 7 years and they will bleed you into the poor house because you can't reach or fine the bill on line to pay and i did not want to go paperless but I wanted the opportunity to pay online if needed. I have had trouble for almost a year saying payments were not mailed or paid on-line when they should.I talked to customer service and they would try to fix the problem but when the next month comes along I have no statement and I am charged late charge and fees, I have had one of their customer service talk so rude to me and asked did I have a problem and did I need assistant very sarcastically and laughed about it while I was on the phone with them trying to find out what has happened.This particular person just kept saying are you sure some one is there with you to take care of these things for me. I was so humiliated and stressed that I literaly cried. I have know idea why I should be considered default on my account when they are the cause of it. Last month I paid money to cover enough until the automatic bill pay was in process, I was promised that there would be no problem it would be taken out of our account, but guess what we finally received a statement for the month before and had late fee and I just want to know if we are in default because they have unqualified personel or computers to send the information needed to pay or are they in default and we should be compensated and taken off of our credit score, because trust me it hurts.
